Upgrading your Premium subscription to Premium Plus
You can upgrade to Premium Plus in a few ways, depending on which payment platform you used when purchasing your original plan:
All platforms (including web)
When you try to use Premium Plus features again (speaking practice, Conversations or Mistake Repair), after you’ve used up your free tries, you’ll be given the option to upgrade from there.
On iPhone / iPad (App Store)
You can also upgrade directly using your Apple device:
Open Settings
Tap your Apple ID (your name)
Select Subscriptions
Tap Busuu
Choose the Premium Plus plan
Confirm the upgrade
Apple will activate your upgrade immediately and handle any price difference.
On Android (Google Play)
You can upgrade using the Google Play Store:
Open Google Play
Tap your profile icon
Select Payments & subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions
Choose Busuu
Select Premium Plus
Confirm the upgrade
Google Play will update your plan instantly and manage any prorated charges.
That’s it! You’re all set to start using exclusive Premium Plus speaking tools. Your renewal date will reset from the date you upgraded.
Downgrading your Premium Plus subscription to Premium:
If you’d like to downgrade your plan from Premium Plus to Premium, you can do this by following the instructions for your payment device (where you first subscribed to Busuu) listed below:
On iPhone / iPad (App Store)
Open Settings
Tap your Apple ID (your name)
Select Subscriptions
Tap Busuu
Choose the Premium plan
Confirm your choice
On Android (Google Play)
Open Google Play
Tap your profile icon
Select Payments & subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions
Choose Busuu
Select Premium
Confirm your choice
Once confirmed, you’ve successfully updated your plan and can still access Premium Plus features until your renewal date. After this date, your plan will downgrade to Premium.
On web
We’re still working on activating downgrades from our web platform. If you’d like to downgrade, please get in touch with the Customer Satisfaction team, who will be happy to help.
After upgrading or downgrading your plan, you can continue to check your subscription anytime in the ‘Subscription’ tab within ‘Settings’.
Changing your plan length:
If you're changing your plan on our mobile app, you can select a 1-month or 12-month plan.
If you’re changing your plan on our web platform, you can only upgrade and downgrade within the subscription length you already have.
Pricing when downgrading or upgrading your Premium plan:
If you’re upgrading to Premium Plus from a Premium subscription, the amount you pay will include any prorated amount deducted from your previous subscription payment as either a prorated credit or a refund from your app provider (Apple or Google). This depends on whether you subscribed on a mobile device or the web. Please check our Terms & Conditions for more information.
When downgrading, your subscription will be active until your renewal date, and no refund will be issued. After this date, your plan will automatically switch to Premium, and payment will be taken.
Note: You can only upgrade or downgrade using the payment platform you originally used to activate your subscription.
